Viola in the Spotlight

Last night we watched Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure on the Disney Channel. Don't judge! A three year old was in the room with us. I don't want to spoil anything for you, because I know you all are wanting to watch it too. It is a Disney movie. And though the writers were creative in how they arrived at the perfect ending, the perfect ending was arrived at, and the main character got everything she wanted.

I was a little worried that this book was going to be the typical: protagonist gets everything she wants and gets a perfect life. But I really like Adriana Trigiani books, so I knew that this wouldn't be the case. (And it wasn't.) I like that nothing is perfect for the characters in her books. And I like that though things do work out in the end, it is more true to life, in that things don't work out how you or the character expect them to. And in the end, everything is OK and actually does work out for the best.

This is a sequel, and thought it can stand on it's own, I would recommend starting with the first book. As the first book was read in one afternoon while I had a migraine, this one was read from 11pm to 2am on an night when I couldn't sleep. A quick read, a perfect vacation book.

Enjoy!
