Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet

I have to start out by saying how absolutely ecstatic I am to be able to contribute to this blog! I love books. I love raving about books, I love ranting about books, I love thinking about books. I have no qualms about any genre. I'll read everything from horror to autobiography to science fiction to historical fiction, and I'm so excited to share my many tastes here, with you! So here I go.

I had to have my first book be a recent book that I loved. It may have taken me a few pages to really get into it, but I was soon swept up in a poetic and lovely story of Henry Lee as he remembers his early heartwrenching years in Seattle. I found myself completely unable to put this book down. I was soon feeling hope, love, and a terrible sense of injustice as I learned what America did to Japanese citizens during World War II.

I thought of including a brief summary of what this book is about, but the description on the jacket of the book turned me slightly off from it, which is why it took me a little bit to get into it. So let me leave you with this instead:

A truly touching and beautiful story that will leave you thinking about justice, love, and destiny. I absolutely loved it.
