State of Fear

I am a conservationalist. I'm not an environmentalist - and yes, there is a difference. My dad raised us to respect the environment, to recycle, to carpool or walk or bike or take public transportation. He taught us not to waste resources - turn the light off when you leave the room, don't leave the water running while brushing our teeth. I think we do pretty well. One brother drives a hybrid. The other has an au naturel property and only needs to water his garden. But, we had a boat at our cabin, have driven numerous SUVs. But everything with in reason.

I think lately we've really been hit hard with the media telling us how we are going to run out of fossil fuels and how the world, our environment is going to pot. Well, this book is a great alternative to that. It tells another story. And what is shared it the truth - there are references all throughout the book. I really enjoyed this story in true Michael Crichton fashion quick moving, full of the mystery, suspense, what's going to happen next, who done it? I definitely recommend this book regardless of how you feel toward the environment, this is a book for everyone... well maybe not for those of you who think the world is going to pot, but everyone else yes.

(ps - I'm on Christmas break from school and am packing in the books as quick as I can. I still have a few more that I've finished and haven't posted about yet... so much more to come...)
