pride & prejudice & zombies.

WARNING
If you are a true blue
(or red, depending on your school loyalties)
Jane Austin fan…
If you believe she is the best author ever…
If you would consider it blasphemy
to tamper with her perfect text…
This book is NOT FOR YOU.

*If you are a fan of Jane Austin’s stories, but maybe get a little annoyed by some of the characters, you wish something bad would happen to them already... then this book is for you (think Mr Collins and Mrs Bennett...)

*If you enjoy going to the movies, and you cringe with unexpected giddy at the site of guts and gore on the screen... then this book is for you (come on, you know who you are...)

*If you are a fan of zombie books... then this book is for you. (disclaimer: I’m just making an assumption on this one since I’ve never read another zombie book.)

I really, really enjoyed this book. I am a fan of Jane Austin’s stories, but I struggle with her writing style (yes, this coming from someone with a BA in English). I laughed through this whole book. The adding of zombies to the storyline made the storyline even better – yes, as if that were even possible.

This is not a really gross book. You’ll giggle a little and cringe when you read the parts of the story with the zombies sure, but it should not give you nightmares. I do not think anything would offend you, unless, again, you are a 100% Jane Austin-all-the-way fan.

I don't remember seeing videos before on this blog. If you didn’t see this video on my personal blog, take 2 1/2 minutes to watch a great little video advertising the soon to be released Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jZVE5uF24Q). If my little blurb here about hasn't convinced you to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, hopefully the cheesiness of this video will.

I had never heard about these books but this is the funniest thing ever! I totally want to read them.
I would love to see Willoughby (or Willoughdork as I call him) be eaten by a sea monster. FUNNY!

Is it written in the same type of language that Jane Austen used, or is it written more modernly?

The novel is referred to as a mashup, so it is her text (though not complete because of the storyline altering) with the zombies, aka: "stricken", added in.
