the history of love

Hi, I'm new here. This is my first book review.

I loved this book. It is a story of an old Jewish man named Leo who has been in love all his life with a woman named Alma; a woman who he knew as a girl in Germany who left for America when they were teenagers and she was pregnant. The story intertwines with other stories, like the story of a girl and boy who lost their father to cancer and their mother to grief. And the story of a famous author who never knew his real father. I loved the way they all got a chance to narrate their portion of the story giving the book layers. Sometimes the book was blunt and to the point and other times it was almost like reading poetry. Great book. I loved it. Once I finished it I felt like I was kind of floating and am now just barely touching the ground again.

PS There weren't racy parts and the language was very tame so I feel %100 ok recommending it.

Thanks Gina!

PS, I plan on reading the geuiouanjdoij literary thingy after Edgar Sawtelle as well, only I call it the "Potato Book." People always seem to know what I'm talking about.

Gina, I read the jacket cover (I know, I wasn't supposed to do that) and really didn't want to read Edgar Sawtelle. I've had it for months but just kept putting it off. But am loving it! I can't wait to review it!
