Matched

In three words I deem this book: poetic, fun, and enthralling.

"Matched is a page-turning, dystopian love story, written with the soul of a poet.  Finally a brave new world that readers from Twilight and The Hunger Games will claim as their own."

- Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl,
authors of Beautiful Creatures and Beautiful Darkness

In the Society, Officials decide. Who you love. Where you work. When you die.

Cassia has always trusted their choices. It’s hardly any price to pay for a long life, the perfect job, the ideal mate. So when her best friend appears on the Matching screen, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is the one… until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now Cassia is faced with impossible choices: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path no one else has ever dared follow — between perfection and passion.

I liked this book.  And like the review said: very Hunger Game-ish and Twiligh-ish. A fun, interesting read.  The author is local from Salt Lake City and a former High School English teacher.  Visit the book's website here.  The book definitely leaves you hanging and wanting more.  It's apparently one of three books to come.  The next book, Crossed, is due out this fall.  I'll be reading it . . .

2.5 out of 5 stars
