My aunts recommended this book to when I told them a little about and recommended The Book Thief to her. Thank you aunt Julianne and aunt Sondra. I enjoy learning as I read. I was on a little bit of a World War II kick after just finishing the DVDs for the HBO series Band of Brothers. I really enjoyed the TV series and thought this would be a good time to finally read this book.
What an amazing autobiography! What an amazing woman! Really, what an amazing people, the members of the Jewish Faith who lived through, and the many who lost their lives, during this unfortunate time in world history. You know how you meet someone and you hear their story? You learn of their trials, you learn of how they overcame the feats they faced? And you just think to yourself - Heavenly Father is with this person, He is blessing their life so that they are always in the right place at the right time - even if it isn't a good place, it is the right place for them to be. But even more, you are in awe of the faith of the person, that they trusted that they would make it through as they just kept pushing through. You know what I mean, right? Well this is how I feel about Edith, the author and protagonist of this story.
As I Googled the book so that I could get the book image, I found a page that said this book is actually being made into a movie. I'll admit, I'm not so sure about that, but will definitely at least rent it to see how Hollywood tells the story. I absolutely recommend the book. I hope you will find some time to read of Edith's experiences.

i read this book after i visited the holocaust museum in washington d.c. a few years ago. loved it. it really is an amazing story. i second your recommendation!
