the mark.
sean gave me this book for mother's day. after finally finishing this book, i picked it up a few days ago. i couldn't put it down! i really loved it. something i particularly love is that it just jumps right into the story. there is a short, somewhat confusing prologue, but after that, i was hooked. if you liked twilight, the host, the hunger games, anything from that genre, this is right up your alley. i won't tell much about it because i don't want to give away anything, so this is what the back of the book says:
She's had it forever. A tiny mark on her hand. No big deal, right? But when Tori discovers that her ordinary freckle is really some kind of microscopic tattoo, she doesn't know what to think, especially after meeting Eric, a guy she feels strangely connected to--and not just because he has a mark too.
All too soon, Tori and Eric realize that their marks are only the first clue to a mystery that will change everything. And with each new discovery, Tori finds herself pulled deeper and deeper into a world she could never have imagined.
This thrilling debut from M.R. Bunderson is one part fantasy, one part mystery, one part romance, and all parts awesome. Join Tori as she learns to master her newfound powers and discovers what her mark really means. Full of suspense, The Mark is an addicting read you won't be able to put down.
sounds cheesy, right? but what young adult fiction isn't? the author is lds, so the romance is nice and squeaky clean. and i do mean squeaky clean. not stephenie meyer clean. that's my kind of romance :)
judging by the way the book ends, there will most likely be a sequel {hooray!} but it was published this year, so it could be awhile. don't worry, the ending is still satisfying. i own it if you want to borrow!
