Hunger Games + Catching Fire

I, too, read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire (see pics on post below...thanks Kirst). And like everyone else, loved them.

In three words I deem these books: chilling, horrifying, and awesome! And in the words of Michael Scott: "I Katniss."

No vampires or wizards here. Just some teens (and a twelve year old!) thrown into a capitalistic arena to fight to the death. Just like Kirsten, I'm scared for the movie to come out too. But excited all the same. If they did the movie right, and casted the right people, and portrayed the right feelings. . . .this movie should definitely be a bad-apple 'R'. It should be the spawn of The Fifth Element, Fight Club, and Lord of the Flies. I just hope it's not too "teeny" by casting super young/immature/cheesy people for the parts who can't act and don't know how to hold a weapon, much less use one. All I'm saying is please don't be as cheesy as The Chronicles of Narnia.

Oh, and did anyone else think that that song by Muse called "Uprising" is PERFECT for a soundtrack to these books? You should listen to it. You'll picture The Hunger Games almost immediately.

5 out of 5 stars!

Ariel, I'm reading The Grapes of Wrath right now. It is soooooo long. But I think I'm getting back into my reading groove.

Can't wait to read these ones too!

I've got this one on hold at the Library, I am like 100 on the list, so maybe in a year I will get to read it.
I love Muse, love the song uprising. That gives me a good image of what the feeling of this book might be like, I can't wait to read it!
