the goose girl.

I usually don't read books twice. There are so many books on my to-read list, so I hate to waste my precious time on books I've already read. Once in a while, however, I like to re-read a favorite. I don't have to worry about whether I'll like the ending or not :) The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale is a favorite.

Shannon Hale's writing is beautiful. Her descriptions are beautiful. The story is beautiful. The goose girl and her yellow hair are beautiful. I love everything about the book. Here's a little about it:

She was born with her eyes closed and a word on her tongue, a word she could not taste. Her name was Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee, Crown Princess of Kildenree, and she spent the first years of her life listening to her aunt’s stories and learning the language of the birds, especially the swans. And when she was older, she watched as a colt was born, and she heard the first word on his tongue, his name, Falada. From the Grimm’s fairy tale of the princess who became a goose girl before she could become queen, Shannon Hale has woven an incredible, original, and magical tale of a girl who must find her own unusual talents before she can lead the people she has made her own. {from Shannon Hale's web page}

Read it. You'll love it!

I totally agree on this one. A friend loaned it to me a while back. I really enjoyed it. It is a clever storyline.
Have you read the Life of Bees? I finally finished Eat, Pray, Love - ugh, at last. My sister-in-law and been talking it up forever and gave me Bees to read this summer. I can finally start it. I'll let you know how it is.

Man! Slow down on the books, you're making the rest of us look bad. :)
