Angels & Demons

In three words I deem this novel: intellectual, engaging, and suspenseful.

I'm sure we're all familiar with Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code (if you're not, I recommend reading it); well, Angels & Demons is the prelude to The Da Vinci Code. The adventure begins with the well-known character Robert Langdon, world-renowned Harvard symbolist, who embarks on a wild and intellectual quest to Italy's Vatican with the beautiful Vittoria Vetra.

There is one thing that sticks out in my mind that Dan Brown is flawless with, and that is creating a 'blockbuster perfection' novel. I really enjoyed Brown's talent of story telling. He is the kind of author who can "jump-around" in a book and get away with it. The moment he leaves a scene in a book, seems to be the perfect moment to leave; and consequently, the moment he comes back to that moment is just as perfect.

Though I have to be completely honest, I have one small negative about this book: My husband can attest to this: I'm really sensitive to torture and talk of or acts of sexual abuse. And this novel had it. However, it wasn't bad enough to deter me in finishing the novel. I still enjoyed it, and would recommend this fast-paced, blockbuster novel to anyone.

4.5 out of 5 stars

I loved this too. I read it right after the Da Vinci Code, he's a great author!

I'm glad you liked it. His books are so fun to read. I really liked Deception Point, too. Digital Fortress was my least favorite. He needs to come out with something new!

I read this one first and loved it. Then I read Da Vinci. Did you know they are filming this movie now? Can't wait (though it definitely needs to be read before seen.)

Alright! About time somebody did a post on a book I have read. I'm not a big reader and don't read "GOOD" but if somebody posts about Dan Brown or John Grisham i am all over it.
This was by far my favorite book. I was mad that I didn't know Angels and Demons was the prelude to Da Vinci because I read Da Vinci first.
I loved the whole book! The only part that made me think..."What?" was the part with the helicopter. My brothers and I were in Italy the same time that Tom Hanks was there shooting the film. If it is anything like the Da Vinci Code I will probably just stay home. The Books are way better.

No Hanks autograph? I'm disappointed. The books are always better - but I think I will watch Angels and Demons.

I loved The Da Vinci Code but honestly I liked Angels and Demons better. He really is a great author. I hope they can portray the book better in the movie better than they portrayed the Da Vinci Code in movie.
