I read this book as a recommendation from a friend, but also really wanted to read more about Mount Vernon since we're heading out there in a month or so. I have to say that it was slightly informative but..... super boring. I ended up skimming the book quite a bit because I just couldn't handle it. Does it help prepare me for going to Mount Vernon. Sure. But I'd rather I didn't waste my time. 1 outta 5 stars.

oh man! i would love to read a FUN book about mount vernon before we go. this is not the one, i guess :)
yeah I was going to recommend it to you if it was any good but... I think I'd rather read about George Washington on Wikipedia... I am going to read 'The Lost Symbol' though which I heard is good if you're heading to DC. Have you read that one yet?
no! i borrowed it from my sister but i still haven't read it. i'll have to do that before next month!
